Welcome to Catherine Infant School

On behalf of the children, staff and governors, I wish you a warm welcome to Catherine Infant School and our website.  We take great pride in the quality of education provided and hope that you will get an insight into the life of our school.

Catherine Infant school is situated in the Belgrave area of Leicester and serves a diverse community with many different languages spoken. We take up to 430 children. We have four classes per year group for reception to year 2 children, a 60 place nursery and a 10 place Designated Specialist Provision. We are an ambitious and inclusive school who always put children at the centre of everything we do and every decision we make.

We feel very strongly that school is a partnership between children, parents, staff and governors and that by working together we can motivate children to succeed in all areas of their development. Therefore, our school motto captures this aspiration:

"WE ARE ALL STARS"

I am very proud to be the Headteacher of Catherine Infant School and to lead a team of talented children and staff. I am driven by a passion for educating infant children. I love to be involved in teaching and learning and see pupils making excellent progress.

Our leaders and teaching staff are committed to ensuring high standards in education with a focus on oracy, reading, writing and maths so children should leave our school with an excellent foundation and all the skills they need for both academic and personal success in the future.

Everything we do is based upon our school values of kindness, respect, resilience, and a love of learning. As Headteacher, I want our children’s infant school years to be some of the best of their lives, so that they can look back with pride and move forward with confidence.

I hope that you enjoy your visit to our website. Please feel free to contact our school office (0116 2625422) if you would like more information or would like to visit our school. We are always happy to show parents and visitors around.

I look forward to meeting you and showing you around our fantastic school!

Dangerous Driving and Parking on Martin Street

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are deeply concerned about reports of dangerous driving and unsafe parking on Martin Street, directly outside our school. These actions put our children, parents, staff, and wider community at serious risk.

Please remember:

- Do not park on double yellow lines or block school entrances.

- Avoid stopping in the middle of the road.

- Drive slowly and remain alert for children crossing.

Your co-operation is essential to keep all of our children safe. A few extra minutes of care can prevent accidents and protect lives.

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe environment for everyone.

Together, we can make Martin Street [and the surrounding streets] safe for our school community.

Thank you.
