We are excited to let you know that a planning application will soon be submitted for the redevelopment of Catherine Infant School.
The new school building will be two storeys and developed on the same part of the site as where the existing buildings are located. The existing buildings will all be demolished or removed from site.
The new building is designed to be highly sustainable and to tackle climate change through being carbon neutral when it is in operation.
There will be no change to pupil or staff numbers at the school.
Vehicular and pedestrian access arrangements will remain as existing. Car parking numbers will be increased and bicycle and scooter parking will also be provided.
The proposals will ensure continuity of facilities for the school during the build process, including the temporary retention of one of the existing buildings, and the provision of additional temporary classrooms.
This development is funded by the Department for Education as part of their School Rebuilding Programme. Galliford Try has been selected by the Department for Education to design and build the new school. Galliford Try is a national construction company with lots of experience of building schools.

If you have any comments or queries on the current proposals, please send these to email@example.com by 1st August 2022.
Galliford Try will be submitting the planning application in August 2022. Once the application has been submitted, it will be available to view and comment on online via Leicester City Council’s planning portal:
Subject to achieving planning permission, construction will start on site early in 2023. Galliford Try are aiming to complete the re-development by November 2024.
